Day-by-Day Egypt Tour Itinerary

Day 1, Luxor Tour & Dahabyia Nile Cruise Check-in

Top Luxor Attractions

Meet your Egyptologist at the pickup point you want, whether in the Luxor airport, Luxor train station, or from your hotel in Luxor. Then, via an air-conditioned vehicle accompanying your Egyptologist, you arrive at the Karnak temple, the largest religious complex ever built in the ancient world. Visiting Karnak is like walking through 2,000 years of Egyptian history carved in great walls, massive columns, obelisks, and giant statues. Visit The Great Hypostyle Hall, one of the most breathtaking sights in Egypt: 134 gigantic columns, some over 20 meters high Covered in detailed hieroglyphics Standing among these columns makes you feel incredibly small—and deeply connected to the power of ancient Egypt.

After that, you will cross to the West Bank of Luxor, Thebes Necropolis, the land of the afterlife world for the pharaohs, exploring the Valley of the Kings, which served as the royal burial ground for Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs (around 1550–1070 BC). More than 60 royal tombs were carved deep into the desert mountains with walls covered with detailed hieroglyphics, vibrant colors that are still visible today, and scenes from the afterlife.

Transfer to the Hatshepsut Temple, standing in awe before three grand terraces rising dramatically in a perfect symmetry with long colonnades carved into the Thebes cliffs. The contrast between golden limestone, blue sky, and massive cliffs makes it one of the most photogenic monuments in Luxor.

Before heading to the Nile Cruise, stop at the Colossi  of Memnon, two massive stone statues that have stood on the West Bank of Luxor for over 3,400 years, guarding The Necropolis. Each statue stands about 18 meters tall and weighs around 700 tons.

Take your seat in the vehicle, proceeding to the Dahabyia Nile Cruise for check-in and lunch on board, and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2, Edfu Temple - Sail to Kom Ombo

Edfu Temple Day Tour

Enjoy your tasty breakfast on the Dahabiya board while sailing in the heart of the Nile. You arrive at Edfu City, where you relish a unique experience, riding a horse carriage to Edfu Temple. Go through this well-preserved temple in ancient Egypt, feeling as if the pharaohs have just raised their hands out of the temples. You will experience a complete dazzlement at this site, where it feels as if the pharaohs are alive and could appear in front of you at any moment.

Enjoy your lunch meal while sailing towards Kom Ombo. Spend a relaxing night with dinner on the Dahabyia board.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3, Sail to Aswan

Kom Ombo Temple - Arrive at Aswan

After enjoying your breakfast on the Dahabyia board, arrive at Kom Ombo Temple, this holy spot dedicated to the god Sobek, which embodies the freedom of the beliefs of the pharaohs. You will see the cult of Horus beside Sobek, while the rituals surround you everywhere to make you feel as if you are in a time gap in the heart of ancient Egypt. The temple includes medical reliefs and carvings that strongly suggest medical practice was associated with this site.

Also explore the Crocodile Museum. Inside, you'll see dozens of real mummified crocodiles, crocodile coffins, statues and reliefs of Sobek, ancient tools, and artifacts related to crocodile worship, as the museum is closely connected to the worship of Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility, protection, and the Nile.

Continue your sailing towards Aswan.

Meals: breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 4, Aswan Sightseeing

Top Aswan Attractions

Start your day with breakfast on the Dahabiya, and begin your visits by arriving at the Aswan High Dam, one of the 20th century's wonders, in an A/C vehicle.

After that, you will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, a pharaonic engineering site where you will see an obelisk that was intended to be the largest obelisk in ancient Egypt. You will see the markings left by the pharaonic engineer and his tools on the obelisk, which will allow you to experience a moment in the heart of ancient Egypt. Create unique memories amid this dazzle of ancient Egypt.

Then, you take a motorboat; after meeting the kind Nubian people with their unique culture on the Philae Port, you sail towards The Philae temple that reveals its stunning architecture as you find yourself in the heart of the Nile. Come close and live the charm of this temple dedicated to Isis.

Return back to the cruise board for lunch and a restful night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Ashraf was our Egyptian professional guide for a Czech small group planned "Sacred journey to the chacra temples of Egypt". As the title already says, not only were we using his incredible life experience of an egyptolog, tourist guide and organiser. We were also using his experience with the places themselves, which of the extra tickets are worth the money to visit the extra places, which of the villages and shops are fair and having good things. And of course all the historical stories linked to the places we visited with open mind to some new more alternative explanations of happenings too. The organisation of our trip from Hurghada, through Asuan, Luxor, Ghiza and back Hurghada is fully his expertise. Minivans, boat, train... He was always with us handling all to our happiness ❤️ Buying extra water, bananas or ordering better for stomach digestion food.

We spent three days and four nights on a Dahabiya cruise with our guide Abdullah — it was an amazing experience, both fascinating and relaxing. The whole crew went above and beyond to make us comfortable, the boat was beautiful, and Abdullah’s tours were clear, engaging, and often funny. We had a wonderful time and now recommend this cruise to all our friends!

Great experience from the start to finish. Golavita excelled on all fronts from good customer service, customer care and eager to provide customer excellence. They organised a simple, cost effective and efficient service with their Luxor trip package. The van was almost brand new, great drivers, couple stops for refreshments and got us bang on time to Luxor. It was a 12 seater van with just 8 tourists leaving plenty of space for everyone to stretch and be comfortable. I have long legs and so I had requested specific seats which was booked for me in advance and I didn't get any hassle by drivers or other co passengers. The guide was Sherriff and I really really enjoyed the way he delivered the site seeing experience. Sheriff spoke fluent in English and with a Masters in Egyptology and 4 decades of experience there couldn't have been a better guide. I highly recommend Sherriff as a guide and Islam and Ahmed as the drivers of fellow Brits tourists.Above all I want to thank Golavita for organising this incredible journey.
