How did they make giant obelisks from a single piece of rare stone with a rectangular shaft?! How did they move this huge Aswan quarry obelisk from the place of industry, where it stands now, to the temples in Aswan, and Luxor, which was Thebes previously?! Also, how did they raise that giant obelisk in the heart of the temple to do the roles it was built for?!

The ancient Egyptians built the obelisks with a gilded, small pyramid above them. This small pyramid absorbs the sun’s rays and then spreads them everywhere.

After raising the obelisk, this gilded pyramid was set on top of the obelisk. It reflects the sun’s rays throughout the temple. It spreads the sun’s rays everywhere as if it were helping the solar deity, Amun, to be in the temple.

So the obelisk spreads this light throughout the temple with magic and unprecedented geometric grandeur. That was the primary goal of building obelisks.
