National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Location
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is located in the heart of the historic city of Fustat in the Old Cairo district. The Fustat area is where the Pharaohs settled and made it a place for a large city, and then the Babylonians settled there when they landed in Egypt.
Then the Romans made it a headquarters for their defense, with which they would connect Lower and Lower Egypt and repel from it every external aggressor against Egypt. After that, the Jews, Christians and Muslims took it as a place to perform their rituals as well. It was also the first capital of Egypt under Islamic rule.
The museum’s location is also distinguished by the fact that it contains a rare natural lake, Ain Al-Sira Lake, which is the only remaining lake in Cairo after the disappearance of many lakes.
