Day-by-Day Egypt Tour Itinerary

Day 1, Hurghada Cairo

Visit the Giza Pyramids, Great Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum 

At 2.00 am, meet your private tour guide from Golavita at the Hurghada Hotel lobby for departure to Cairo by air-conditioned modern vehicle.

3:00 am, leave the checkpoint.

6.00 am, Coffee Break: Use the WC, get your morning coffee or simply stretch your legs at Zaafarana Rest House to be ready for the rest of the trip.

Giza Pyramids Plateau Tour (Lasts 2 Hours)

  • Arrive at the Great Pyramid of Cheops; the majesty of ancient Egypt is embodied in front of your eyes now. Unveil mysteries about why and how these Pyramids were built?! Who had built them, the creative ancient Egyptian workers or the slaves?! What about the hidden energy of these royal tombs?!
  • Meet the Queens’ Pyramids of Khufu's mother, wife, and daughter. 
  • See the pits of the solar boats and live the events of carrying the mummies of the kings from the palace to the Giza Pyramids Plateau, and find out the secrets behind the afterlife trip during the sunset by these boats!
  • Move to the Mortuary Temple, where the priests purified the kings’ mummies with the 7 holy oils.
  • Cross through the Giza Builders Tombs.
  • Meet the Pyramid of Chephren with its cladding that shows how the Giza Pyramids looked once they were built.
  • Marvel at the Valley Temple, where the kings were mummified.
  • Walk through the Causeway and arrive at the Panorama for seeing the whole Plateau in one scene with 6 pyramids.
  • Before arriving at the panorama, cross through the Menkaure Pyramid.

Lunchtime (Lasts minimum 45 minutes)

  • Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant near the Pyramids with a lot of salad choices, chicken, meat or fish.
  • With possible vegetarian meals but kindly mention your guide in advance.

Egyptian Museum (A Visit Lasts to 2 Hours)

  • Meet the sarcophagus, stelae, and giant statues of Ramses II, Akhenaten, and Hatshepsut on the ground floor.
  • Step up to the first floor where your eyes shine with the pharaonic treasures, royal items, and also rare artifacts from the heart of ancient Egyptian daily life, from the prehistoric eras up to the Greek and Roman, crossing through the Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, and New Kingdom.

The Cairo day tour ends at 05.00 am.

Move to Cairo Airport for a one-hour domestic flight to Luxor.

Arrive at the hotel in Luxor by the modern AC vehicle; check in and spend a relaxing night.

Day 2, Luxor Hurghada

Ride a Hot Air Balloon & Visit Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Colossi of Memnon 

You will receive a message about the early pick-up time for your hot air balloon over Luxor's West Bank one night before.

On time,  you will be picked up.

Hot Air Balloon 

  • Before sunrise, enjoy a hot-air balloon ride at sunrise. 
  • Enjoy around 45 minutes flying over the top attractions on the west bank, such as the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Ramesseum, the Valley of Nobles, the Valley of the Queens, and Habu Temple.

Breakfast Time 

  • Return back to the hotel after soaring over the majesty of Thebes by hot air balloon.
  • Express the most delicious local Egyptian breakfast dishes.
  • Meet your Egyptologist at the hotel lobby to complete your day tour.

Karnak Temple

  • you’ll be greeted by the Avenue of Sphinxes, which is a long pathway lined with ram-headed sphinx statues connected Karnak to Luxor Temple, stretching for nearly 3 km.
  • Arrive at the First Pylon  with the massive, unfinished gatshrines, including smaller chapels dedicated to the Theban Triad (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu).
  • Arrive at the largest hypostyle hall in the world, one of the most iconic spots  in ancient Egypt, filled with 134 gigantic columns.
  • Meet the sacred lake of the priests. 
  • There are other monuments dating back to more than 100 kings and queens in ancient Egypt.

Lunchtime (extends from 45 to 60 minutes)

  • Enjoy a very tasty lunch at a local restaurant with amazing lentil soup, pasta soup, baba ghanoush, tahini, green salads with shish tawook or mix grill, rice, and pickles.

Valley of the Kings 

  • Explore the home of the royal tombs, including Tutankhamun's tomb, where you will be surrounded by the Book of the Dead, the Book of Gates, the Book of Caverns, and the Book of the Heavenly Cow.
  • Plus inscriptions about hieroglyphic texts, depictions of gods and goddesses—Osiris, Anubis, and Ra—and a judgment scene (weighing of the heart by Anubis).
  • Your Egyptologist accompanies you to the best tombs to visit from inside, after telling you all about the Valley of the Kings secrets.

Hatshepsut Temple

  • Meet the dramatic cliffs, creating a breathtaking backdrop with the temple's 3 carved levels.
  • Arrive at the sphinx-lined paths and colonnades with reliefs of Hatshepsut’s divine birth and her famous Punt Expedition (showing exotic animals and goods from the mysterious land of Punt).
  • Explore the Sanctuary of Amun, where rituals were performed.

Colossi of Memnon 

  • Explore those giants of Amenhotep III, located on his mortuary temple, where the Opening Mouth process was done by the priests to help the king restore his senses in the afterlife.

We arranged the tour a few weeks in advance before arriving in Egypt. Akram presented us with a complete private tour program, starting in Hurghada, visiting Cairo, the Black and White deserts, Alexandria and finally returning to Hurghada. Everything run smoothly, from the different drivers, who picked us up and dropped us off, always punctual and safe (especially Hamada, 'Medo'!) to the guides, in particular Reeham in Cairo who was just outstanding and Ahmed in the desert tour who welcomed us in his home together with his family before taking us and preparing our dinner in the desert! The overnight stays were all planned in great detail. It was definitely an incredible experience during these 4 days! A huge thank you to Akram!

We had booked airport transfers from Hurgada airport to our resort in May 2022 and our experience was excellent. What sets this company apart was the responsive service we got through WhatsApp messaging. You may not be aware of this but meeting a taxi driver at airport is not so easy or obvious as the security personnel does not allow drivers in or even standing by the entrance. It all was resolved easily by WhatsApp communication. I cannot overstate how important is having a rapid response when something does not go as you would expect. Thank you Ashraf. I am aware this company does much more than airport transfers: while I did not use any during my stay, I wouldnot hesitate to recommend this organisation to plan for your excursion needsin Hurghada.Update April 2023: Used them again for this trip booking through Hoppa, same excellent service.

We spent three days and four nights on a Dahabiya cruise with our guide Abdullah — it was an amazing experience, both fascinating and relaxing. The whole crew went above and beyond to make us comfortable, the boat was beautiful, and Abdullah’s tours were clear, engaging, and often funny. Where do I start!!! A massive thankyou to Mr Akram and his team for creating amazing excursions giving you memorable experiences. Right from the beginning, communication with Mr Akram was so professional, he attends to all your needs by listening to what it is you want to get out of your excursions and creates these amazing moments of a life time, all with the great connections he has. Nothing is too much of a hassle for Mr Akram, he answered all my questions thoroughly before I arrived. Mr Akram showed me and my friend Hurghada City and bought us drinks, which was a lovely gesture for getting to know each other. We went on two excursions whilst we were in Hurghada, one to Cairo and the other Luxor. Our hired car was very modern, clean and had AC, which gave us a great first impression. A big shout out to our driver Hamada- what an amazing job he does, not enough credit is given. He drove so professionally and made us feel safe the entire time we were in his company. A big shout out to Mushy our tour guide, what vast information she holds, absolutely amazing with great historical knowledge. She really gives you detailed information and takes her time explaining the finer details to you. Overall our whole experience was amazing, many laughs along the way, many memories to treasure. Nothing is too much hassle for these lovely people, Mr Akram always made sure we were ok and enjoyed our experiences by checking in on us. Drinks were always topped up ensuring we were hydrated all the time whilst on our tours. If your thinking of booking with Palma tours, don't think just book, you will not regret it, right from the first communication you make with Mr Akram, things run so smoothly that's its literally stress free for when you arrive. We had a great quad bike ride in the afternoon. The guide had a great energy and humor that made the tour extra good. On the way to the tour we had a driver that shouldn't be driving tourist, but when we told it to the company they gave us a another driver that drove perfect so we could relax in the car. That's a good and professional way of handling a problem. We can recommend this company.

We went in the Safari and Paradise Island boat trip. Both were very well organised, great activities and the transfer made by driver was on time!I recommend especially the Paradise Island trip! The views on the island are amazing and the boat trip until there has such grest service on the boat (snorkeling, lunch, drinks).
