Not far from Saqqara lies Memphis, the oldest capital of ancient Egypt. a city of great importance as it was the capital of Egypt from the Third Dynasty to the Sixth Dynasty. Saladin Citadel
It is one of the most important Islamic landmarks in Cairo and one of the oldest military fortresses in the Middle Ages. It was the seat of the government of Egypt until the reign of Khedive Ismail. Witness the ancient Islamic heritage in Egypt, which is visible not only in the Citadel but also in the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Mosque of Suleiman Pasha al-Khadem, the museums of the Jewel Palace, the Police, and the Military Museums.
Khan El Khalili Street
Continuing the Islamic history of Egypt, we cannot ignore the streets of Old Cairo that still preserve the Islamic atmosphere and heritage to this day, such as Khan El Khalili Street.
