The Colossi of Memnon are those two giant statues located in the dazzlement of Luxor’s horizon. They represent Pharaoh Amenhotep III powerfully. Whatever your height and size, you will be in front of Colossi of Memnon as a dwarf. They were cut from a single block of stone. It weighs 700 tonnes. They are mounted on 4-metre-high pedestals, each weighing 600 tonnes.
Defying the passage of time from 1350 BC to the present and all-natural forces, such as a powerful earthquake that struck in 27 BC, the two majestic Colossi of Memnon with the two smaller statues carved by his feet (one being his wife and the other his mother) are welcoming you today from the 18th Dynasty.
These colossi represent Amenhotep III while he was sitting in glory on his throne. He wears the royal headdress and is protected by the divine cobra of the Nemes. To be guards for his mortuary temple. But this temple was fallen. But the Colossi of Memnon are still alive strongly with the time.

The Colossi of Memnon Story/Colossi of Memnon Sound
The Romans used this area as a retreat, writing songs and lyrical pieces about these enormous magical constructions. The giant Amenhotep III, due to the entry and exit of air, produces sounds that sound like loud crying; so, the Romans believed that he cries for the mother of the hero "Memnon," who was killed by Achilles during the Trojan wars.
That is why those giant statues were named Memnon. While in fact, you are in front of the greatness of Amenhotep III, and with Golavita’s Egyptologist, you can arrive at unbelievable pharaonic mysteries and secrets.
