Some of the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx Facts
Why were the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx built?! The essential usage of Giza Pyramids was to be tombs, where the kings lived in the afterlife when becoming gods as per their beliefs.
But why did they build these tombs to this great height? First of all, the pharaonic tombs were raised on one or two terraces above the ground to bury the kings and queens. They began to make more than one step as a tomb until they arrived at the Steps Pyramid in Saqqara.
Then, they wanted to make the tombs more and more luxurious. So, they started building on the idea of pyramids. That is why they built these pyramids in the Dahshour district, but as a result of a fault in the arithmetic process, the first pyramid in history became bent. That is why it is called the Bent Pyramid.
Then, the first successful pyramid was the Red Pyramid, but it had a modest height compared to the pyramids of Giza.
So, the pharaohs, specifically King Khufu, decided to choose the Giza Plateau to build his pyramid, the Khfu Pyramid. This Platuea is raised on the land. Khufu had chosen to take on the challenge of building his tomb at this massive height to narrate about his ruling time for the eras to come. Plus also facilitates his trip to the sky by his solar ship at sunset.
The pharaohs' kings thought that at the first sunset after their deaths, they would go up to the sky as gods on a solar ship. You will see this solar ship at the Giza Pyramids complex. You will live their whole beliefs and events as if time takes you back to the old kingdom with the ancient Egyptians.
The same thoughts of Khufu are believed by Khafre and Menkaure, building the Khafre Pyramid, and the Menkaure Pyramid.
The Great Statue of the Sphinx
The Giza Pyramids Guard (c. 2575–c. 2465 BCE) was carved from a single piece of limestone with a human head and a lion body to combine power and wisdom when guarding the majestic tombs of the pharaohs.
Secrets happened in front of the Sphinx, that had left evidence in front of it as if it controlled the situation and collected the evidence via the eras to narrate all of them. Let the Sphinx tell you with the accompaniment of our Egyptologist.

How The Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx Were Built?!
Archaeological sites across Egypt and records written on ancient papyri show that boatmen used the Nile and an artificial network of waterways to bring materials to the Giza Plateau, including granite from Aswan quarries, copper-cutting tools from the Sinai Peninsula, and timber from Lebanon.
Historical evidence also shows that the ancient Egyptians used ingeniously dynamic brick cranes.
The Egyptian builders of the pyramids lived in a nearby temporary city, Memphis. It was sprawling over some 17 acres. The remains of ancient Egypt’s bakeries found in Memphis and piles of animal bones show that they were very well fed for their labor. Archaeological digs on the charming site have uncovered a highly organized community, wealthy with resources, that must have been backed by a strong central authority.
