Experience a private 3-day tour from El Gouna to Cairo and the White Desert. Begin your journey by visiting the iconic Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Next, embark on a desert safari to explore the unique landscapes of the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, and Aqabat Valley. Conclude your adventure with a memorable night of camping under the stars in the White Desert. Enjoy comfortable door-to-door transportation and authentic local meals throughout your trip.
Start your tour with a morning pickup from your accommodation in El Gouna. You will travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle toward Cairo. The drive includes a scheduled rest stop where you can purchase breakfast or coffee. Upon arriving in Cairo, you will head directly to the Giza Plateau to begin your historical tour. Your guide will explain the history and construction of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three main pyramids. You will also view the Queens' Pyramids and learn about the alignment of the structures.
The walking tour continues past the Solar Boat Pits and the tombs of the pyramid builders. You will then observe the Pyramid of Khafre, which retains some of its original limestone casing at the peak, and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure. Afterward, proceed to the Panorama Point, the highest elevated area on the plateau, which provides a clear view of all the pyramids together. From there, you will visit the Valley Temple, traditionally used for the mummification process, before approaching the Great Sphinx of Giza.
Following the Giza tour, you will transfer to the Grand Egyptian Museum. The visit starts at the main entrance, featuring the Hanging Obelisk and the massive statue of King Ramses II. Inside, you will walk through the main galleries displaying artifacts that span from the prehistoric era to the Greco-Roman period, including items related to daily life and royal regalia. After concluding your museum visit, you will have a freshly prepared lunch at a local restaurant featuring traditional Egyptian dishes. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo for check-in and an evening at your leisure.
(Meals: Lunch)
Following breakfast at your Cairo hotel, your guide and driver will pick you up to begin the journey toward the Western Desert. The drive to the Bahariya Oasis is scenic and includes rest stops along the way. Upon reaching Bahariya, you will be welcomed into a local Bedouin house where a traditional lunch, prepared by the local hosts, will be served.
After lunch, you will transition from your standard vehicle to a 4x4 Jeep to begin the off-road desert safari. The first stop is the Black Desert, characterized by its hills and plains covered in dark, volcanic rock. You will then drive to El Heiz Village to rest by a natural cold spring. The tour continues to Crystal Mountain, a ridge featuring exposed quartz and calcite crystal formations. Next, you will navigate through the Aqabat Valley, an area known for its large, isolated rock formations rising from the sandy floor. Here, you will have the opportunity to walk through the valley and participate in a sandboarding activity on the dunes.
As the afternoon progresses, you will enter the Old White Desert and eventually reach the New White Desert just before sunset. This protected area is famous for its bright white, wind-carved chalk rock formations. Your local guides will set up the campsite while you explore the surroundings. The day concludes with a traditional Bedouin barbecue dinner prepared over an open fire, followed by an evening of camping under the stars in a quiet, natural environment.
(Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
The day begins early with a traditional Bedouin breakfast served at the campsite in the quiet environment of the White Desert. After breakfast, you will have time to take a morning walk among the distinct chalk formations, many of which have been eroded into shapes resembling mushrooms, animals, and other unique figures. This is an excellent time for photography in the morning light.
Once the campsite is packed, you will board the 4x4 vehicle and head back to the Bahariya Oasis. From there, you will switch back to your private air-conditioned vehicle for the return journey. You will travel back through Cairo and continue the drive to the Red Sea coast, concluding the tour with a drop-off at your original hotel in El Gouna.
