Itinerary

Day 1: Visit Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk

Enjoy Our Seamless Pickup in Aswan:

At the agreed time and at the location you selected in Aswan, we will pick you up. Meet your Egyptologist, and allow yourself to relax in your air-conditioned seat as we begin your Aswan tour.

Arrive at Aswan High Dam:

It is the 20th-century architectural marvel, a massive embankment dam stretching about 3.6 km long and 111 meters high. Arriving at its top, you see a panoramic view of the Nile while it runs through the desert, and you also visit Lake Nasser, the largest artificial lake in the world.

The visit lasts around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Travel to the second stop, Philae Port, using the air-conditioned vehicle.

We take a motorboat from Philae Port to Philae Temple, which appears like a dream in the heart of the Nile.

Philae Temple Visit:

When entering, you will be surrounded by beautiful columns, hieroglyphs, and detailed carvings showing stories of gods and pharaohs; the Kiosk of Trajan with 14 columns, often called the "Pharaoh's Bed"; smaller temples and shrines dedicated to Hathor, Horus, and other deities; plus the main temple of Isis; hence, it is called the jewel of ancient Egypt's temples.

After sailing back to Philae Port, we proceed to the last stop in an air-conditioned vehicle.

Explore the Unfinished Obelisk:

Arrive at this ancient granite quarry in Aswan, meeting the largest known ancient obelisk ever attempted, estimated to be about 42 meters long and would have weighed over 1,000 tons if completed! This site reveals the engineering skill and ambition of ancient Egyptian builders, uncovering secrets about one of their architectural marvels. You will still see the engineers' lines and tools on the obelisk!

Arrive on the Nile cruise in an air-conditioned vehicle. Relish the professional and friendly welcome from the Pyramids Dahabiya Nile Cruise crew. Savor a tasty lunch meal.

Have a restful night on Aswan's shore with dinner.

Meals Included:

  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.

Day 2: Visit Kom Ombo Temple and Sail to Edfu

Enjoy a unique morning amidst Aswan's shores with breakfast.

Enjoy a relaxing sail to Kom Ombo city with a delicious lunch meal, standing before the temple. With the accompaniment of your Egyptologist, go ahead to Kom Ombo Temple.

Kom Ombo Temple Visit:

The structure is comprised of two symmetrical halves, one dedicated to Sobek and the other to Horus, a feature uncommon in ancient Egyptian architecture., Inside, you will find the oldest Nilometer in history, which was used to measure the Nile’s water levels. You can also see the Crocodile Mummies, which showcase real mummified crocodiles representing the god Sobek, along with statues and ancient artifacts related to crocodile worship for Sobek.

It is a unique temple that you will visit in around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Go back to the Nile cruise, and relish the sailing journey to Edfu.

Meals Included:

  • Breakfast.
  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.

Day 3: Visit Edfu Temple, and Sail to Luxor

Have a refreshed morning with a delicious breakfast, and then, with your Egyptologist, enjoy this experience, riding a horse carriage in around 7 to 10 minutes, arriving at Edfu Temple.

Arrive at Edfu Temple:

It is the best-preserved temple in Egypt, known as the Temple of Horus, dedicated to the falcon-headed god of protection and kingship. There, you can wander through the majesty of the Massive Entrance (Pylon) with a huge gateway with towering walls decorated with carvings of Horus and the king smiting enemies — very photogenic—the Courtyard and Hypostyle Halls, Statues of Horus, Sanctuary of Horus, and even more.

The visit lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes, going back to the Dahabiya by horse carriage.

The dahabiya sails to Luxor, crossing the Esna Lock; savor one of the tastiest lunch dishes you can experience, and enjoy the peaceful sailing, arriving at the majesty of Thebes, the capital of ancient Egypt, Luxor now.

Have a relaxing night on Luxor's shore, and relish your dinner.

Meals Included:

  • Breakfast.
  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.

Day 4: Visit the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon, and Karnak Temple

Relish your morning on Luxor's shore, Thebes, and have your tasty breakfast. Check out of the cruise and, with the accompaniment of your Egyptologist, arrive at Thebes Necropolis.

Explore the Valley of the Kings:

It is a royal burial ground for pharaohs of the New Kingdom (1550–1070 BC), with over 60 tombs having been carved into the rock—each with its artwork, layout, and history—with vivid, colorful scenes from the Book of the Dead, star maps, and stories of the pharaoh’s journey to the afterlife. You can visit the best three of these tombs, including the Tomb of Ramses III (KV 11), the Tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2), the Tomb of Merenptah (KV 8), the Tomb of Ramses IX (KV 6), the Tomb of Tausert & Setnakht (KV 14), and the Tomb of Siptah (KV 47).

The visit lasts around 2 hours; afterward, we proceed to the second stop, Hatshepsut Temple.

Marvel at Hatshepsut Temple:

It is one of the unique mortuary temples in ancient Egypt, built for Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most powerful and successful pharaohs — and one of the few women to rule as king The temple has a unique three-level structure with colonnaded terraces connected by Deir El Bahri ramps — incredibly modern-looking for its time.

The visit lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes. With the accompaniment of your Egyptologist, cross through the Colossi of Memnon.

Colossi of Memnon Stop:

The statues depict Amenhotep III seated on a throne during the 18th Dynasty (around 1386–1349 BC), hands resting on knees, facing east toward the Nile and the rising sun, adorning the largest mortuary temple in ancient Egypt. In ancient times, the northern colossus would “sing” or make a musical, whistling sound at dawn — described as a "melodic hum" or "crying voice." Discover how that is!

This stop, during which we take non-repeatable photos, lasts 45 minutes. Afterward, we proceed to the local restaurant.

Lunchtime:

Savor one of the most delicious Egyptian lunch meals in a local restaurant.

Karnak Temple:

Built and expanded over more than 2,000 years by successive pharaohs, especially during the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BC), it was dedicated primarily to the Theban Triad: Amun-Ra (sun god), Mut (his wife), and Khonsu (their son). At Karnak Temple, you can wander through the greatest hypostyle hall in history, which features 134 massive sandstone columns that are 10 to 21 meters tall, an avenue of sphinxes, towering obelisks of Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, sacred lakes, and much more.

The visit to Karnak Temple lasts around 2 hours.

At the drop-off point you select in Luxor, including Luxor bus station/train station/hotel/airport, we take you by the air-conditioned vehicle to enjoy a smooth drop-off service.

Meals Included:

  • Breakfast.
  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.

Excellent private tour with a very knowledgeable , intelligent and tour guide. Ashraf went the extra mile to make sure our two day trip went smoothly and took us to all the best sites in Luxor. He also gave detailed interesting information throughout. He also has a fun character and was fun to talk to outside the tour!

A very beautiful experience which made our stay in Egypt unforgettable; Luxor with a caring guide and Cairo with Ismaël; a very cultured guide who listens to the happiness of customers. I would recommend this agency without hesitation

We went in the Safari and Paradise Island boat trip. Both were very well organised, great activities and the transfer made by driver was on time! I recommend especially the Paradise Island trip! The views on the island are amazing and the boat trip until there has such grest service on the boat (snorkeling, lunch, drinks).

The luxor 2 day trip was amazing. We have young children who struggled at times, but the guide and driver were fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the historical sites, and the hot air balloon ride was incredible. I would definitely recommend this trip and this company.

We arranged the tour a few weeks in advance before arriving in Egypt. Akram presented us with a complete private tour program, starting in Hurghada, visiting Cairo, the Black and White deserts, Alexandria and finally returning to Hurghada. Everything run smoothly, from the different drivers, who picked us up and dropped us off, always punctual and safe (especially Hamada, 'Medo'!) to the guides, in particular Reeham in Cairo who was just outstanding and Ahmed in the desert tour who welcomed us in his home together with his family before taking us and preparing our dinner in the desert! The overnight stays were all planned in great detail. It was definitely an incredible experience during these 4 days! A huge thank you to Akram!
