Description

This 4-day tour aboard the Semiramis III Nile Cruise gives you the opportunity to sail amid the lush banks of the Nile from Aswan to Luxor while the desert appears in the background where the monuments rise dramatically.

In this guided tour, you arrive by air-conditioned vehicle to Aswan’s attractions, visiting Aswan High Dam (this 20th-century marvel), Philae Temple (the jewelry of ancient Egypt’s temples), and the Unfinished Obelisk (the historical quarry for the ancient Egyptians to uncover one of the ancient Egyptian architectural marvels).

Sail to Kom Ombo Temple (the only double-faced temple in history) and Edfu Temple (the most well-preserved temple in ancient Egypt), arriving at Karnak Temple (the largest religious complex in the world), the Valley of the Kings (where the powerful ancient Egyptian kings found their final rituals), and Hatshepsut with its non-repeatable facade, carved in the Deir El Bahri cliff rising into three terraces. Furthermore, explore the Colossi of Memnon, which are located near the largest mortuary temple in the Thebes Necropolis.

During the journey, you entertain both peaceful sailing time and dazzling views you can relish on the cruise sundeck or even from the panoramic window in your private cabin, plus enjoy the swimming pool, sun lounges,  bar with cocktail drinks, restaurant for savoring the tastiest fresh-cooked meals, and other amenities, while the other entertainment is exploring ancient Egypt’s attractions with your Egyptologist.

Itinerary
Day 1: Explore Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple, and Unfinished Obelisk

Enjoy a Professional Pickup Time:

Meet your Egyptologist at the agreed-upon time and location you selected in Aswan, then ride in the air-conditioned vehicle to Aswan High Dam.

Aswan High Dam - A visit lasts around 1 hour and 15 minutes

This dam is one of the 20th century's marvels, controlling the annual flooding of the Nile, providing water for agriculture, and generating hydroelectric power for millions of Egyptians, creating the largest global artificial lake in the world. You can enjoy the panoramic view of this lake, Nasser Lake, and the Nile while it runs through the desert.

Ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to Philae Port.

Philae Temple - A visit lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes

Take a motorboat from Philae Port for a relaxing sailing, arriving at Aglika Island, where Philae Temple is located. It is rising like a dream from the waters of the Nile; take wonderful shots. Come close and wander through this site dedicated to the goddess Isis, which was the last active center of ancient Egyptian religion, where the worship of Isis continued even during Roman rule.

Sail back to Philae Port and ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to the Unfinished Obelisk.

Unfinished Obelisk - A visit lasts around 45 minutes

It stands as one of the most fascinating relics of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship, embracing the largest obelisk ever erected—standing at an astonishing 42 meters and weighing over 1,000 tons, dedicated to Hatshepsut. Uncover how Egyptians carved massive monuments directly out of solid bedrock — using only hand tools made of dolerite!

Ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to the Nile Cruise.

Nile Cruise Check-in:

Relish the professional and friendly welcoming from Semiramis 3 Nile Cruise crew, and enjoy a fresh-cooked lunch meal made by the expert chefs on the cruise board.

The rest day is at your leisure; have a relaxing night with dinner. The Nile Cruise docks on Aswan Shore.

Meals Included:

  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.
Day 2: Visit Kom Ombo & Sail to Edfu

Relish your breakfast on the cruise deck amid the fabulous view of the Nile banks on the Aswan shore.

The Nile Cruise Sails to Kom Ombo:

Experience the first time of the sailing, arriving at Kom Ombo; the Nile Cruise docks in front of the temple.

Kom Ombo Temple - A visit lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes

It is the only double temple in history, dedicated equally to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god of strength and fertility, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god of protection; this design represents the freedom of worship and belief for ancient Egyptians. It is designed with two identical halves — two entrances, two halls, and two sanctuaries. Explore the Crocodile Mummies Museum inside as well.

Return back to the Nile Cruise.

The Nile Cruise Sails to Edfu

Entertain yourself with the restful sailing while having a delicious lunch meal, docking on the Edfu shore.

Enjoy your dinner meal, and have a relaxing night.

Meals Included:

  • Breakfast.
  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.
Day 3: Visit Edfu Temple & Sail to Luxor

Enjoy your breakfast meal on the cruise deck, and then, with the accompaniment of your Egyptologist, start your day tour.

Edfu Temple - A visit lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes

Take a horse carriage, enjoying this unique experience as you arrive at this temple. It is the best-preserved temple in all of Egypt. The temple is dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky and protection, providing an unparalleled glimpse into the religious life, mythologies, and architectural brilliance of ancient Egypt.

Arrive back at the Nile Cruise by horse carriage.

The Nile Cruise Sails to Luxor - Cross Esna Lock

Relish the relaxing sailing while having your tasty lunch meal. Experience the breathtaking journey through Esna Lock and reach Luxor.

Have a relaxing night amid the majestic shore of Thebes, Luxor now, and savor your dinner.

Meals Included:

  • Breakfast.
  • Lunch.
  • Dinner.
Day 4: Visit Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon, and Karnak Temple

Enjoy your breakfast on the cruise board, and check out. With your Egyptologist, ride the air-conditioned vehicle to start your Luxor day tour, arriving at Thebes Necropolis.

Valley of the Kings - A visit lasts around 2 hours

It is the royal necropolis of ancient Egypt’s most powerful rulers — including Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Seti I, and many others. You can visit up to three of the best tombs included on the main entrance ticket, like KV2 — Tomb of Ramses IV, KV6 — Tomb of Ramses IX,  KV8 — Tomb of Merenptah,  KV14 — Tomb of Tausert and Setnakht, KV11 — Tomb of Ramses III, and KV15 — Tomb of Seti II.

Other tombs, like Tutankhamun's, need an extra ticket (not included on the main entrance ticket and the tour charge, but we can help you in booking it).

Ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to Hatshepsut Temple.

Hatshepsut Temple - A visit lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes

This temple is nestled against the towering cliffs of Deir el-Bahari; the carved, unique, three-tiered colonnaded structure blends seamlessly with the surrounding cliffs, creating a harmonious design that blends the magnificent historical architecture and nature. Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh in history, built it. This temple documents Hatshepsut's success story and preserves the secret of her right to rule ancient Egypt.

Ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to a local restaurant.

Lunchtime - It Takes around 1 hour

Savor a local Egyptian lunch meal that reflects a unique side of Egypt's culture.

Ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to Karnak Temple.

Karnak Temple - A visit lasts around 2 hours

It is the largest religious complex ever built by man, covering more than 100 hectares, built over 2,000 years, dedicated primarily to the god Amun-Ra, but also honoring Mut, Khonsu, and other deities. Marvel at the Great Hypostyle Hall with more than 134 massive columns, some standing 21 meters tall, explore ancient obelisks, and see Sacred Inscriptions.

Ride the AC vehicle, going ahead to the drop-off point you select inside Luxor.

Great private tour to see desert and abandoned Roman ruins. Excellent service. We had private jeep, driver and tour guide. Amazing adventure, more than we expected. I strongly recommend this service. They can take you to some cool and unknown places far from main routes. Thank you for the amazing time!

Ashraf was our Egyptian professional guide for a Czech small group planned "Sacred journey to the chacra temples of Egypt". As the title already says, not only were we using his incredible life experience of an egyptolog, tourist guide and organiser. We were also using his experience with the places themselves, which of the extra tickets are worth the money to visit the extra places, which of the villages and shops are fair and having good things. And of course all the historical stories linked to the places we visited with open mind to some new more alternative explanations of happenings too. The organisation of our trip from Hurghada, through Asuan, Luxor, Ghiza and back Hurghada is fully his expertise. Minivans, boat, train... He was always with us handling all to our happiness ❤️ Buying extra water, bananas or ordering better for stomach digestion food.
