Why was St. Catherine's Sinai called with this Name?
The monks of St. Catherine's Sinai had discovered the incorrupt body of sister Catherine, whose story will live in this holy monastery on nearby Mount Saint Catherine. That was in the 9th century AD. So, in her honor, the monks named the monastery after her.
