Bent Pyramid Facts
Since it has two angles of inclination—the first 58 degrees, up to a height of 49 meters, and the second 48 degrees, up to a height of 52 meters—this pyramid is actually known as the Bent Pyramid.
So, the pyramid has two angles. The ancient Egyptians discovered that the first angle would raise the pyramid to a higher level than expected. At the same time, the pyramid engineer saw that the inner walls had already begun to crack and that the base could not support the pyramid’s weight if construction had proceeded at the same initial angle.
They investigated once the construction had reached half of its height. That’s why they updated the pyramid’s angle to 48 degrees.

Bent Pyramid Inside
The interior architecture of the Bent Pyramid is really unique, aiming to keep thieves away from the royal burial chamber full of treasures. So, there are two internal roads with two entrances on the north and west sides. You will stand confused about which one leads to the King's Chamber, and then you will experience the ancient Egyptian puzzles from the heart of the pyramid.
With the Egyptologist of Golavita, you will get to know a tunnel that descends to a north antechamber. Its roof involved several levels. Each of these levels extended further inward than the one beneath it. This historical method of building, known as corbelling, was also applied to the Meidum Pyramid.
Above the antechamber, you will discover a corbelled roof when reaching the burial chamber. It is not the only burial chamber on the pyramid's west face. It is accessed through a descending passageway that descends to a horizontal corridor. Beyond these portcullises is the second burial room, which likewise has a corbelled roof.
The second burial chamber is higher up than the first burial room. There is a brickwork passageway that connects these chambers.
You might wonder aloud whether the king was buried inside this pyramid or in the Meidum pyramid. With Golavita Egyptologist, you will uncover all the secrets of this great history.
Whether you view the pyramid from its exterior or from its interior, you will immerse yourself in rich history and discover the enchantment of the pharaohs' mysteries.
