Day-by-Day Egypt Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Luxor Grandeur & Embarkation in Esna

Your expert Egyptologist meets you in Luxor (airport, hotel, or train station).

Drive to the Luxor East Bank, where you explore Karnak Temple, the largest religious building ever constructed, you will be utterly overwhelmed by the Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 massive columns that vividly conveys the immense scale and architectural ambition of ancient Egyptian worship and power.

After savoring a delicious lunch in a local restaurant, transfer to the West Bank Tour “Thebes Necropolis,” which was the afterlife world for the ancient Egyptians.

Visit the Valley of the Kings, and witness the finest surviving examples of ancient Egyptian funerary art, offering a privileged, intimate glimpse into the beliefs and colorful craftsmanship surrounding the pharaohs' journey to eternity.

Proceed to Hatshepsut Temple, marveling at its unique, multi-terraced architectural masterpiece that dramatically integrates into the towering cliffs, boldly asserting the influence and genius of Egypt's greatest female pharaoh.

Before heading to Esna for the Dahabiya check-in, gape at the Colossi of Memnon, standing humbled before these two massive, silent sentinels, the sole surviving reminders of the largest mortuary temple complex ever built, testifying to the colossal engineering of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Enjoy a comfortable road transfer south to Esna (approx. 1-hour drive). Board your elegant Turquoise Dahabiya, check into your cabin, and meet the crew. Enjoy your first exquisite dinner on board. The Dahabiya typically anchors near Esna or sails to a nearby island for a peaceful overnight stay.

we don't miss the small on-site Crocodile Museum, as it is the only place where you can see a large, eerie collection of real mummified crocodiles—including golden and ivory-toothed specimens—offering profound insight into the unique cult of the god Sobek and the ancient Egyptian practice of animal mummification.

Sail back and then go ahead to the Unfinished Obelisk as a final stop for understanding ancient Egyptian quarrying and stonemasonry techniques, as it still lies in its bedrock, revealing exactly how the colossal monuments were carved.

Return to the Dahabiya for lunch on board, anchored in Aswan. You have the option for additional activities (a trip to a Nubian Village, a Felucca ride on the Nile “on your charge”) or time to explore the Aswan souq (market). Enjoy dinner and your last night on the Dahabiya.

Our experience on the Dahabiya with Golavita was absolutely fantastic. We had a very professional guide, Mohamed Nagdy who spoke excellent Spanish, and we learned about the fascinating history of Ancient Egypt in a relaxed and enjoyable way. The Dahabiya Iris is truly recommended, a perfect combination of comfort and culture.

Great experience from the start to finish. Golavita excelled on all fronts from good customer service, customer care and eager to provide customer excellence. They organised a simple, cost effective and efficient service with their Luxor trip package. The van was almost brand new, great drivers, couple stops for refreshments and got us bang on time to Luxor. It was a 12 seater van with just 8 tourists leaving plenty of space for everyone to stretch and be comfortable. I have long legs and so I had requested specific seats which was booked for me in advance and I didn't get any hassle by drivers or other co passengers. The guide was Sherriff and I really really enjoyed the way he delivered the site seeing experience. Sheriff spoke fluent in English and with a Masters in Egyptology and 4 decades of experience there couldn't have been a better guide. I highly recommend Sherriff as a guide and Islam and Ahmed as the drivers of fellow Brits tourists.Above all I want to thank Golavita for organising this incredible journey.

Wow my time in Egypt was beyond and it would never have been as good without my guide. I’m beyond grateful for his effort and all the energy he spent making my tips once in a lifetime. I know I’ll be back one day, and I look forward to see people I now call my friends.

We had booked airport transfers from Hurgada airport to our resort in May 2022 and our experience was excellent. What sets this company apart was the responsive service we got through WhatsApp messaging. You may not be aware of this but meeting a taxi driver at airport is not so easy or obvious as the security personnel does not allow drivers in or even standing by the entrance. It all was resolved easily by WhatsApp communication. I cannot overstate how important is having a rapid response when something does not go as you would expect. Thank you Ashraf. I am aware this company does much more than airport transfers: while I did not use any during my stay, I wouldnot hesitate to recommend this organisation to plan for your excursion needsin Hurghada.Update April 2023: Used them again for this trip booking through Hoppa, same excellent service.

We arranged the tour a few weeks in advance before arriving in Egypt. Akram presented us with a complete private tour program, starting in Hurghada, visiting Cairo, the Black and White deserts, Alexandria and finally returning to Hurghada. Everything run smoothly, from the different drivers, who picked us up and dropped us off, always punctual and safe (especially Hamada, 'Medo'!) to the guides, in particular Reeham in Cairo who was just outstanding and Ahmed in the desert tour who welcomed us in his home together with his family before taking us and preparing our dinner in the desert! The overnight stays were all planned in great detail. It was definitely an incredible experience during these 4 days! A huge thank you to Akram!
