Experience Sila Dahabyia Nile Cruise Luxor to Aswan and sail gently on board this traditional wooden sailboat that blends timeless charm with modern comforts, offering an intimate and unhurried way to experience the Nile
This refined journey is designed for travelers who value serenity, authenticity, and cultural depth, inspired by the elegance of 19th-century explorers, and is ideal for history enthusiasts, discovering Egypt’s most iconic attractions, including Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir EL Bahari), Edfu Temple of Horus, Kom Ombo Temple, the Aswan High Dam, and Philae Temple, along with lesser-known gems that reveal the Nile’s timeless soul.
Unlike large cruise ships, the Sila Dahabiya hosts only a small number of guests, ensuring personalized service, a peaceful atmosphere, and gourmet dining prepared with care. Its shallow draft allows access to exclusive sites and hidden riverbank treasures unreachable by larger vessels, while village stops along the way offer genuine encounters with local life.
This tranquil voyage is seamlessly curated by Golavita Tours, with the services of a professional Egyptologist accompanying you on all sightseeing visits, air-conditioned door-to-door transfers, and full-board accommodation onboard, ensuring comfort, insight, and peace of mind throughout your journey.
This is not simply a cruise—it is a graceful passage through history, culture, and the quiet beauty of the Nile.
Once you arrive at Luxor airport, or any pickup point in Luxor, you will be met by our expert representative for smooth pickup. Take your seat in the private air-conditioned vehicle and start your day tour in Thebes, the capital of ancient Egypt.
Explore the Thebes Necropolis, visiting the Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom (18th–20th Dynasties). It is the final resting place of legendary rulers, where the tomb walls are covered with well-preserved, colorful scenes depicting the afterlife, ancient Egyptian beliefs, and sacred texts like the Book of the Dead and Amduat. Walking inside feels like stepping back 3,000 years.
Proceed to Hatshepsut Temple, built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, the temple features three dramatic terraces, long colonnades, and perfect symmetry—unlike any other temple in Egypt. It honors Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few women who ruled Egypt as a pharaoh.
Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive seated statues—each about 18 meters high—that once stood at the entrance of the grand mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, guarding it for over 3,400 years.
Before we begin our tour at the east bank of Luxor, savor a tasty lunch meal at a local restaurant.
Explore the largest religious complex ever built, Karnak Temple, which was built over 2,000 years and served as the main place of worship for the god Amun-Ra. It’s not just one temple—it’s a massive complex of temples, chapels, pylons, and obelisks, including the Hypostyle Hall, with 134 massive columns, some towering over 21 meters.
Finally, we head to Esna to check in at the Sila Dahabyia Nile Cruise, where you enjoy a friendly welcome from the professional crew on board.
After your breakfast, relish your first sailing time, feeling a unique meaning of relaxation and wonder while you voyage through the dazzling nature and local life on the Nile banks, especially your experience when you cross through Esna Lock.
Arrive at Edfu, and be ready for an unforgettable experience, riding a horse carriage to the Temple of Horus, which is the best-preserved temple in Egypt, where you feel when walking through that you are stepping straight into the time of the pharaohs. The walls are covered with well-preserved hieroglyphs, religious rituals, festivals, and daily temple life—a dream for history lovers and photographers.
Return back to the Dahabyia, and continue your sailing to Kom Ombo, where you dock and spend your relaxing overnight with dinner.
Relish your breakfast amid the dazzling nature of the Nile, followed by your discovery of Kom Ombo Temple, the only temple in Egypt dedicated to two gods at the same time, perfectly divided into two identical halves. The temple walls also show some of the earliest known medical instruments, along with scenes of surgery and healing—incredibly advanced for their time.
Proceed to the Crocodile Museum, located right next to the temple; you’ll find a museum displaying mummified crocodiles, giving deeper insight into the worship of Sobek, who is one of Kom Ombo Temple’s gods.
The Dahabyia is now cruising toward the land of gold, Aswan, where you will spend your night.
Have a relaxing time on board the Sila Dahabyia Nile Cruise with breakfast. Next, be ready to start your adventure.
Begin your day at the Aswan High Dam, a unique experience that combines engineering marvel, history, and scenic beauty. The dam overlooks Lake Nasser, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. The vast water body and surrounding desert landscapes make for incredible photos.
Head to the Unfinished Obelisk, it gives a unique glimpse into how the ancient Egyptians quarried and carved massive stones directly out of granite.
Transfer to Philae Port for a peaceful sailing to Philae Temple, the temple is located on Agilkia Island in the Nile, where you can explore grand pylons, massive columns, beautifully carved walls, and statues depicting gods, pharaohs, and sacred rituals. The carvings are remarkably well preserved.
We spend a restful time on board our Sila Nile Cruise with lunch and dinner meals. On this day, you have a great opportunity to explore Aswan more, like visiting Aswan Bazaar or Nubian Village.
Enjoy your breakfast on board, and then check out, finalizing your memorable Sila Dahabyia Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan. In this day, you have the ability to visit the Abu Simbel tour.
