Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the 2 August 2027 solar eclipse so special?

The total solar eclipse on 2 August 2027 is expected to be one of the most extraordinary astronomical events of the century. Luxor lies almost directly on the eclipse's centerline, allowing visitors to experience approximately 6 minutes and 22 seconds of totality, making it the longest total solar eclipse visible from land until well into the next century.

Why Is Luxor One of the Best Places in the World to Witness the 2027 Total Solar Eclipse?

Luxor offers one of the most extraordinary viewing locations on Earth for the 2 August 2027 total solar eclipse. Positioned almost perfectly along the eclipse's centerline, the city will experience an exceptional 6 minutes and 22 seconds of totality—the longest duration of any land-based total solar eclipse until well into the next century.

Beyond its ideal astronomical location, Luxor is renowned for its exceptionally clear desert skies and minimal chance of rainfall in early August, providing excellent conditions for eclipse viewing. As daylight fades into an eerie midday twilight, you'll witness the sun's magnificent corona glowing above one of history's greatest open-air museums.

Nowhere else can you watch one of nature's rarest celestial events while standing among the towering columns of Karnak Temple, overlooking the timeless waters of the Nile, or surrounded by monuments that have inspired humanity for more than 3,000 years. Combining a world-class eclipse with the unmatched grandeur of Ancient Egypt, Luxor transforms this rare astronomical phenomenon into a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Will Solar Eclipse Glasses Be Provided?

Yes. ISO 12312-2 certified solar eclipse glasses are included for every guest on the tour, ensuring you can safely enjoy the eclipse during all partial phases. Your guide will also provide a brief safety briefing before the event, explaining when to wear your glasses and when it is safe to remove them during totality to witness the breathtaking solar corona with the naked eye.

Is Abu Simbel included?

The sunrise excursion to Abu Simbel is available as an optional tour that can be added during booking. Guests who choose this excursion will return in time to continue the scheduled Aswan sightseeing.

Why choose this eclipse tour?

This journey combines one of the world's most remarkable astronomical events with a 5-star Nile cruise through the heart of ancient Egypt. Rather than simply traveling to see the eclipse, you'll experience it while exploring iconic temples, royal tombs, and timeless Nile landscapes, creating a once-in-a-lifetime adventure unlike any other.

We had a great quad bike ride in the afternoon. The guide had a great energy and humor that made the tour extra good. On the way to the tour we had a driver that shouldn't be driving tourist, but when we told it to the company they gave us a another driver that drove perfect so we could relax in the car. That's a good and professional way of handling a problem. We can recommend this company.

We arranged the tour a few weeks in advance before arriving in Egypt. Akram presented us with a complete private tour program, starting in Hurghada, visiting Cairo, the Black and White deserts, Alexandria and finally returning to Hurghada. Everything run smoothly, from the different drivers, who picked us up and dropped us off, always punctual and safe (especially Hamada, 'Medo'!) to the guides, in particular Reeham in Cairo who was just outstanding and Ahmed in the desert tour who welcomed us in his home together with his family before taking us and preparing our dinner in the desert! The overnight stays were all planned in great detail. It was definitely an incredible experience during these 4 days! A huge thank you to Akram!
