Start your day with a breakfast, and then be ready to explore the majesty of ancient Egypt in Thebes, now Luxor, the capital of ancient Egypt, heading to the Thebes Necropolis on the West Bank of Luxor.
Begin this day of explorations in the Valley of the Kings; this sacred valley served as the royal burial ground for Egypt’s most powerful rulers of the New Kingdom, where you will visit carved tombs hidden inside the desert hills. Each tomb is unique, with long corridors and chambers leading deep into the mountain and the walls are covered with vivid, well-preserved scenes depicting the journey to the afterlife, filled with gods, spells, and sacred symbols that guided the pharaohs beyond death.
Transfer to the Hatshepsut Temple with its elegant, symmetrical design rising dramatically against the cliffs of the Theban mountains; it stands as a masterpiece of ancient architecture and one of the most inspiring monuments of female power in history.
Before leaving the Thebes Necropolis, stop at the Colossi of Memnon; each statue rises about 18 meters, depicting Amenhotep III seated on his throne, offering a quick but impressive introduction to Luxor’s ancient wonders.
Head to the Nile Cruise for lunch on board, and experience the first sailing time, voyaging to Edfu City, where you dock and spend your relaxing night with dinner.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Breakfast on board, and meet your Egyptologist for a unique experience, riding a horse carriage to Edfu Temple, one of the best-kept temples in Egypt, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god of protection and kingship, where you explore the Grand Entrance, Courtyard and Colonnades, Statues of Horus, Inner Halls and Sanctuary, as well as detailed hieroglyphs that describe rituals, myths, and daily temple life—almost like an ancient textbook carved in stone.
Return back to the Nile Cruise for lunch, and continue your day cruising towards Kom Ombo Temple, the only double temple in ancient Egypt, perfectly symmetrical and dedicated to two different gods at the same time, where you visit two entrances, two halls, and two sanctuaries—reflecting the balance between opposing forces. Explore also the nearby Crocodile Museum.
Spend a relaxing sailing time towards Aswan, with natural beauty that is blended with rich history and Nubian culture.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
After breakfast on board, we transfer to the Aswan High Dam, stretching over 3.8 kilometers, the dam is an impressive sight, showcasing the scale and precision of modern engineering. Proceed to the Philae Port, taking a motorboat to Philae Temple, dedicated mainly to Isis, the goddess of magic, motherhood, and healing. It was one of the last active centers of ancient Egyptian religion, making it incredibly significant historically and spiritually. Philae’s structures are incredibly well-preserved, with detailed carvings and towering columns that tell stories of ancient rituals and myths.
